I earned my M.S.Ed. from Pace University in 2002 and my master’s degree in Special Education from Fordham University.  After five years teaching in the public school system, I transitioned to Achievement Learning Center, where I became a partner and, by 2008, stepped into the role of Director.

As a former classroom teacher, I understand how learning unfolds within school structures, and I value the advantage of a setting where instruction can be personalized to each student’s pace, goals, and learning style. While we uphold academic standards, we also have the flexibility to slow down when reinforcement is needed and accelerate when a student is ready to move ahead.

As both an educator and a mother of two, I understand the challenges families face, from early learning through college planning, and I am committed to creating a learning environment that is supportive, thoughtful, and tailored to each student.

Every student is capable of growth when taught in a way that matches how they learn.
Our approach is diagnostic, prescriptive, and deeply personalized. We begin by identifying each student’s strengths, areas of need, and learning style. Rather than placing students into a pre-set program, we build a plan specifically for them, one that supports their school curriculum while targeting skill gaps, building confidence, and developing stronger learning habits.

Step 1: Assessment and Understanding
Each student completes an initial evaluation to help us understand their skill level, pacing, and learning preferences. We then meet with parents to listen to their concerns, learn about classroom experiences, and share our findings.

Step 2: Customized Learning Plan
Based on the evaluation, we design an individualized learning plan that reflects your child’s needs and goals. Whether the focus is building reading fluency, strengthening math foundations, preparing for an entrance exam, or improving executive functioning, every plan is thoughtful, targeted, and flexible.

Step 3: Ongoing Adjustment and Support
We continually monitor progress and adjust the learning plan as skills grow. We maintain a pace that keeps students challenged but successful, building both skill and confidence — not just faster answers.

Step 4: Family Communication and Partnership
We believe parents are essential partners in learning. We maintain an open-door policy for conferencing and encourage families to meet with us regularly to discuss progress, goals, and next steps.

Our aim is for every student to feel capable, confident, and equipped with tools they can carry well beyond our sessions.

Our students are taught by experienced educators in a warm yet academically focused environment. Instruction is upbeat, personalized, and encouraging, designed to help students feel both supported and appropriately challenged. Our teachers are selected not only for their qualifications and experience, but for their ability to connect with students, instill confidence, and spark genuine interest in learning.

Each tutor specializes in specific content areas such as reading/writing, mathematics or exam preparation (TACHS, HSPT, ISEE, SSAT, ACT, SAT). Because our team offers different strengths, students receive instruction that is targeted, relevant, and appropriate for their goals.

Instruction is available in both private (1:1) and semi-private (2:1) formats, with the option for in-person or remote learning, based on family preference and scheduling needs. Sessions are offered after school, in the evenings, and on weekends to accommodate busy student schedules.
